Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, visited the International Educational Corporation

On July 11, 2024 during a working trip to Almaty, Head of Government, Olzhash Abayevich Bektenov got acquainted with the campus and material and technical base of the university, as well as the updated infrastructure and academic and scientific achievements.

Chairman of the IOC Supervisory Board, Aigazy Amirlanovich Kusainov, presented all six educational institutions of the Corporation to the Head of government, including strategic plans for future infrastructure modernization. These plans include the opening of the first British Charterhouse School in Almaty, the construction of a comfortable dormitory with 345 beds by the end of 2025, and the construction of an academic and residential center for teachers “Academic City”. 

In addition, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the activities of scientific centers and research laboratories, where future personnel are being trained in the areas of architecture, construction and design, as well as work is being carried out to study seismic impacts on structures, projects are being carried out to improve the urban environment.

The Head of Government noted the importance of directing the efforts of the Higher Scientific and Technical Commission to support applied projects aimed at solving urgent problems of the real sector of the economy and putting them into practice. This direction corresponds to the new strategy of the International Educational Corporation, which promotes the development of innovative ideas and increases the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market.

The IEC took part in the international business forum “New Vision”

 

From June 27 to June 29, 2024 Almaty hosted a large-scale international business forum. Along with world speakers, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the IEC, Kusainov Aigazy Amirlanovich, addressed two panel sessions: “Schools 4.0: How Business Sees the Future of Education” and “Education and the New Labor Market”. He shared his vision on how education can be transformed in response to modern business challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the importance of innovative teaching methods and interdisciplinary approaches.

The forum was organized by the YPO Kazakhstan Chapter and Nobel Fest. It brought together representatives from various fields, including businessmen, investors, technical leaders, coaches, and artists. The forum offered a rich program with more than 50 sessions, business exhibitions, workshops, and networking opportunities. Special attention was given to topics that contribute to business development in the new conditions. Inspiring speeches from international and Kazakh experts were also presented.

The International Educational Corporation participated in the forum to show its initiative to integrate learning into modern business and open up new opportunities for educational institutions.





The ceremony of taking the military oath for the first soldiers of the military department took place at IEC

For the first time, 126 students received the rank of junior sergeant of the reserve forces of the armed forces of Kazakhstan and took the military oath within the walls of IEC. This significant event marked an important milestone in the history of both the corporation and military department.

The solemn event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Military Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications, Lieutenant-Colonel Yerzhan Serikpaevich Zhambayev, and a veteran of military operations in other countries, Associate Professor, Colonel of the Reserve Murat Abirovich Rakhimberdi. The Rector of IEC Margarita Bulatovna Imandosova congratulated the first graduates on their successful completion of studies at the military department. The students took the military oath with pride, confirming their readiness to serve their homeland and protect its interests. 

The head of the military department at IEC, Colonel Umbet K. D., was awarded a commendation letter on behalf of Minister of Defense R. F. Zhaksylykov. 

Congratulations to our students for this important step, and we wish them success in their future service and career.




The IEC was visited by professors of Beijing University

On June 28th, the International Education Corporation was visited by the professors of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, led by Professor Li Aiqyn, research supervisor of the Doctoral Program at the School of Civil and Transportation Engineering, and Wu Beibei the General director of “Forceset. Vibration Control” company. During the visit, guests from China toured the renovated KazGASA building after reconstruction, and presented the scientific, technical, and educational basis of the IEC.

Discussed future cooperation and experience exchange in architecture and construction. The parties also agreed to exchange students and teachers and jointly conduct scientific research and conferences, contributing to international dialogue and partnership.

Graduates celebrated their 35th anniversary.

On June 22, the International Educational Corporation hosted a solemn meeting of the KazGASA Alumni Association dedicated to the 35-year anniversary of the graduation from the AS-84 course at the Architectural Faculty of Alma-Ata’s Architectural and Construction Institute. Guests were presented with a newly renovated building, and an excursion included a digital museum in memory of Amirlan Aidarbekovich Kusainov, as well as specialized laboratories and new production classrooms.

In conclusion, the Provost of IEC Sabdenaliyev Bakhtiyar Asylbayuly and Dean of Faculty of Architecture Khasenov Manas Igenovich presented letters of gratitude to the participants in the charity event for the landscaping of the territory around the main building of IEC for their contribution to creating a green area and improving the educational environment. The event served as a vivid demonstration of the continuity of generations and connection between graduates and their alma mater.

The visit of the Swiss public figure and president of the Diplomatic Circle of Geneva, Robert Blum, to the IEC

On June 22, Robert Blum, a Swiss public figure and president of the Diplomatic circle of Geneva, visited the International Education Corporation. The guests were welcomed by IOC provost Bakhtiyar Asylbayevich Sabdenaliyev and Deputy Head of Almaty’s Youth Policy Department, Aziz Oralbekuly Kazhenbek. During the visit, guests were shown around the renovated Kazgasa building, including a digital museum, a museum of Amirlan Aidarbekovich Kusainov’s memory, and specialized laboratories. 

 

The purpose of the event was to discuss ways to strengthen international cooperation in education and youth policies, as well as share experiences in cultural and educational projects.




The IЕC participated in the fourth World Chemistry Conference held in Paris.

The research group from the IЕC, IRN project “Development of Multifunctional Nano- and Micromodifiers for High-Functional Concrete Technology”, funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, successfully presented its research results at the conference.

The group, led by Bekturganova Naila Esengeldievna, Director of the Postgraduate Education Department and Professor of FCTIM (Faculty of Construction, Technologies, Infrastructure and Management), as well as project executors, Inna Kolesnikova, Alexander Suvorov, Ainur Tukhtamishev, and Aiganym Ismailov presented the results of synthesizing a carboxyl-containing polydimethylsiloxane modifier and its use in concrete. This significantly improved the physical and mechanical properties of concrete.




The IЕC held a scientific seminar “Factors of formation of regional features of architecture in the conditions of independent Kazakhstan”

 

On June 13, 2024, the Faculty of Architecture of the International Educational Corporation hosted a scientific seminar “Factors of formation of regional signs of architecture in the conditions of independent Kazakhstan”, organized within the framework of the IRN AR grant project 19680138. The seminar was devoted to the discussion of the interim results of the study. 

Presentations were made by the scientific staff of the grant project: 

– Chief Researcher of the grant project – Doctor of Architecture, Research Professor Gulnara Seydakhmetovna Abdrasilova;

– Senior Researcher – Candidate of Architecture Layla Shaimerdenkyzy Rahimzhan;

– Researcher – Candidate of Architecture, Head of the NIO NIPF RSE “Kazrestavratsiya” Gulnara Mamyrbekovna Kamalova;

– The scientific director of the project – PhD Elvira Temirgalievna Danibekova.




The IЕC hosted a guest lecture with Ilya Varlamov.

On June 17, 2024, within the walls of the International Educational Corporation, there was a guest lecture given by the famous architect and journalist, Ilya Varlamov, which aroused great interest among students and teachers who are interested in urban planning and improving the urban environment. 

At the event, Ilya shared his knowledge and experience in architecture and urban studies, answering numerous questions about topical issues in urban development.

Teachers of the Faculty of Architecture have been awarded membership cards to the Union of Architects.

On June 14, 2024, an International educational corporation hosted a meeting of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan to admit 15 faculty members of architecture to the creative union. The meeting was attended by representatives of the board of the UA in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Aidar Tatygulov, first vice-president of CA, President of Design Academy “KazGOR”; Bolat Musylmanbekov, vice-president, director of Kumbez LLP, chief architect for Almaty region, Anton Fedyanin, chairman of the commission on architectural contests and work with young architects, and Gulnara Abdrasilova, doctor of architecture, research professor, chair of the section on architectural education of UA RK.

This event became another example of cooperation between the corporation and the Union of Architects, contributing to the further professional growth and exchange of experience among specialists.
