As part of the ongoing development of science and innovation at the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA), an open lecture was held on April 25, 2025, organized by the Urban Studies Laboratory. The speaker was Professor Islam Hamdy Elghonaemy, who delivered a presentation on the topic: “Using Drones in Urban Planning with a Sustainable Approach in Achieving the SDGs.”
Professor Islam Hamdy Elghonaemy is a professor of architecture at the University of Bahrain, coordinator of the Landscape Architecture program, and a consultant in urban planning and cultural heritage preservation. He has over 24 years of academic and practical experience in the fields of architecture, urbanism, and sustainable design. He earned his PhD in Urban Planning from Mansoura University (Egypt) in collaboration with The Ohio State University (USA).
Professor Elghonaemy is the co-founder of the “Architecture Center” in Egypt and actively participates in projects supported by the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the World Bank. He is the author of numerous scientific publications, a member of editorial boards and expert committees, and a regular participant in international conferences on sustainable development.
The lecture sparked great interest among students, faculty, and researchers of the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA), highlighting the relevance of integrating new technologies into solving contemporary urban planning and sustainability challenges.
