Academic Quality Council

The Educational and Methodological Council is established to improve the organization of methodological work and enhance educational and methodological documentation in accordance with modern objectives for high-quality specialist training. In its activities, the Council is guided by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education,” regulatory legal documents of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Charter of IEC LLP, the regulations on scientific and methodological work, and the annual work plan of the Council, which is approved by the Rector.

The activities of the Educational and Methodological Council are supervised by the Chairperson of the Council, who is appointed by the order of the Rector of IEC, usually from among the most experienced academic or associate professors. The Council conducts its work through educational and methodological seminars, Council meetings, conferences, and the fulfillment of individual assignments from the Rector.

Development of recommendations for improving the organization of the educational process, its methodological support and intensification, and increasing the effectiveness of the teaching and methodological activities of faculty and students.

Organization and coordination of the work of faculty-level Educational and Methodological Councils; studying, summarizing, and disseminating the experience of the university and other educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as foreign countries, in organizing the educational process and teaching methods that ensure the training of highly professional and competitive specialists.

Involvement of employers, experts, and stakeholders in the development of educational and methodological documentation.

Implementation of coordination and cooperation in the educational and methodological activities of educational organizations that offer training in related specialties (educational programs).

Preparation of recommendations for the improvement of state compulsory standards and the renewal of the content of higher and postgraduate education programs.

Monitoring of the availability of textbooks and educational materials for the educational process.

Reviewing manuscripts of textbooks and educational manuals.

Studying innovative practices of other higher educational institutions.

Preparing recommendations for the implementation of modern educational technologies.

Providing recommendations for improving the educational process, sharing best practices, and participating in the organization of conferences, seminars, and meetings on issues of higher education.

Promoting the implementation of the state language development program in accordance with the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participation in the preparation and evaluation of draft documents on the development of higher education.
Supervision of work on the methodological support of the educational process and its improvement.
Development of recommendations for the creation of curricula and programs, updating their content, integrating disciplines, and preparing methodological guidelines and manuals for conducting classes.
Participation in organizing scientific and methodological conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and meetings.
Formation of author teams for participation in tenders for the development of state educational standards, textbooks, teaching aids, and other materials.
Formation of annual prospective plans for the publication and re-publication of educational and methodological literature.
Ongoing monitoring of the implementation of educational and methodological work as provided in individual plans and orders.
Carrying out current organizational work.
Holding meetings of the Educational and Methodological Council.
Preparation of reports on the work of the Educational and Methodological Council.
Organization of work related to the development of State Standards for higher and postgraduate education, standard curricula, and educational programs in the field of architecture and construction.
Analysis and generalization of teaching experience of leading faculty members and development of recommendations for the implementation of new teaching technologies, improvement of teaching methods for all types of academic activities, use of computer and other technical teaching tools, and analysis of their effectiveness.
Discussion and approval of working curricula and course syllabi.
Organization and implementation of measures for the methodological support of academic disciplines.

The Educational and Methodological Council operates in accordance with an annually developed work plan approved by the Rector of IEC.
The work plans of the faculty-level Educational and Methodological Councils are coordinated with faculty deans and signed by the Chairperson of the Educational and Methodological Council.
The authority of the Educational and Methodological Council is terminated and reinstated by order of the Rector of IEC.
