On July 9, 2025, the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) hosted a practice-oriented workshop conducted by the company Future of Mobility, titled “Fundamentals of Urban Mobility Infrastructure Design.” The event was organized for students of architecture and engineering disciplines as part of the academic program aimed at developing skills in designing within the context of the modern urban environment.

A distinctive feature of the workshop was the use of a real-life case study – the development project for Charterhouse School in Almaty. Throughout the day, participants went through all stages of project work – from field research to final presentation of design solutions. The workshop’s main focus was to improve transport accessibility for a specific urban site, emphasizing safety and convenience for all user groups: pedestrians, motorists, and public transport passengers.

Under the guidance of Future of Mobility experts, students conducted territorial analysis, gathered primary data, worked in themed focus groups, engaged in transport modeling, and developed project proposals.

The workshop featured Ivan Ivanov, Chief Project Architect; Georgiy Golovashin, Head of the Modeling Department; and Ramazan Auezov, Lead Analyst. This workshop served as an important step in developing students’ interdisciplinary competencies in urban environment analysis, modeling, and design, as well as a successful example of collaboration between the academic community and the professional industry.
