VISA AND REGISTRATION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS STUDYING AT THE IEC
According to The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, every foreign citizen and stateless person upon entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan is obliged to obtain and fill out a migration card. The migration card is filled in by a foreign citizen personally – legibly, without corrections, in Russian. If a foreign citizen does not speak Russian, it is allowed for him to fill in information about himself with letters of the Latin alphabet in accordance with the data specified in the passport or other identity document. The migration card is filled in for every foreign citizen, regardless of age. In the item “Purpose of arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan” it is necessary to specify: study.
a) National passport (in the original);
b) Migration card with a border crossing mark (original + copy);
5. Students should inform the staff of the International Department in a timely manner about all changes concerning the place of residence, contact information, status changes (obtaining a temporary residence permit, residence permit, citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
ATTENTION!
Foreign students are not entitled to work in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the untimely appeal of a foreign citizen regarding migration registration is an administrative offense and is subject to a fine. In case of loss of documents, we ask you to inform the staff of the International Department immediately.
We kindly ask foreign students not to leave Kazakhstan during the academic year unless absolutely necessary.
ABOUT THE RULES OF STAY OF FOREIGN STUDENTS OF LLP “International Educational Corporation” IN KAZAKHSTAN
Registration of stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Kazakhstan is regulated by Law No. 477-IV of 22.07.2011 “On migration of the population”.
International students of the IEC who arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan on a visa-free regime, and students of the IEC with a issued study visa must submit their passports to the International Department on the day of arrival or the next day for subsequent notification to the district authorities of the migration service of Almaty about their arrival. Important! Every time after crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign students must register with the migration service of Almaty within 3 calendar days from the moment of entry.

IMPORTANT! After the expiration of the permitted period of stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign students need to register with the migration service of Almaty, get a temporary residence permit (registration of temporary residence). To do this, you need to contact the International Department 30 days before the deadline.
When leaving on vacation or for other reasons, we ask you to notify the International Department 3 days before departure in writing, by writing an application and coordinating the departure with the Dean of the Faculty.
Upon returning to Almaty after the winter and summer holidays, the student must again submit his passport to the International Department to notify the district authorities of the migration service of Almaty about his arrival.
We inform you that leaving the Republic of Kazakhstan during the academic year at non-regular time is possible only once a semester with the permission of the Dean of your faculty. To do this, it is necessary to submit an application to the International Department with a justification of the reason for leaving during school hours and ONLY after obtaining the Dean’s permission to leave. On the day of arrival in Kazakhstan or the next day, you need to contact the International Department and provide the original passport for the notification of your arrival at the migration service of Almaty.
Before leaving for the winter and summer holidays, a foreign student from abroad must apply for an entry and exit visa. Upon returning to Almaty, the student also needs to submit his passport to the International Department within three working days for migration registration with the migration Service of Almaty.
In case of a change of residence address, immediately (no later than 2 days) inform the International Department for timely re-registration of you in the migration services authorities of Almaty.
Students should inform the staff of the International Department in a timely manner about all changes concerning contact information, status changes (obtaining a temporary residence permit, residence permit, citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
